A full IP surveillance solution is not always realistic for a company with investment in an existing analog solution. SI offers several hybrid surveillance platforms which provide users with many of the benefits of IP-based surveillance, while avoiding the costs of new cameras and re-cabling. The digital encoding of analog feeds can take place either at the camera end, allowing it to then be transmitted over any IP network, or at the termination of currently existing coax home-runs. New IP cameras can be seamlessly added to the surveillance network, either as replacements or in addition to the analog cameras.

We can implement one of several systems to monitor Point of Sale (POS) terminals and help reduce shrinkage. The integration of high-quality network video with POS exception reporting makes it easy for loss prevention staff and managers to identify suspect transactions. POS exceptions that can be tracked with video recording include: manually entered values, granting returns when no item is returned, unauthorized discounts, a cash register being opened when no transaction is registered, voiding a sold item without customer knowledge.

Detailed exception reports with associated video clips are only a click away, providing a crystal clear view of each transaction. It is possible to generate reports by cash register, time, employee number, amounts and exception kind, make a quick analysis and find valid proof for shrinkage-related activities. Beyond tracking fraudulent cashier transactions, managers who use network video to analyze POS transactions can quickly identify common mistakes, misunderstandings and manipulation methods. Similar integration is available for Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems when battling external loss. When integrated with network video, the EAS system not only activates an alarm, but also triggers a video recording of the incident. The recording can be configured to include a specified amount of time before and after the alarm, ensuring full coverage
